The first steps

In the last 2 months of discussions on Basecamp (where ROSI project is coordinated) we got new members involved in exchanging ideas; below are few of the hot topics:

• The need to unify existing small open source communities to help this event.
• The event is strongly desired as politically independent.
• The event will be held for 2 days in the Spring of 2007, in Braşov. (This place seems like a right decision both geographically and culturally. Braşov is located right in the middle of the country and has lots of tourist attractions.)
• How can the event be better advertised in Romanian blogs and if we can attract other groups and movements from IT/FLOSS to join.
• We soon realized that ROSI won't have enough resources to organize the conference by itself. We were in the need for a sponsor and an experienced partner.

We also debated proposals about the speakers, the name of the conference and the official schedule.
